Identity Management
As borders become tighter around the world, as identification documents become more technologically advanced and as counter-terrorism measures become more sophisticated, governments increasing look to identity management systems to protect their borders, identify and manage criminals and to assist their armed forces in all their operations. The range of identity management tools and systems is ever-expanding, from photographs and fingerprints to iris scanning and other forms of biometric technology.
At the same time, the fundamental goal of the officer in the field or the warfighter on operations is the same: identifying individuals wherever they may be, or registering the identity of individuals in a timely and efficient way. Having made the identification or registration, the officer or warfighter can then take the appropriate action – detain, allow access, add to a database.
Outside the government activities of law enforcement, border control and armed forces, identity management is increasingly being used in systems in areas as diverse as healthcare, offender management, voting systems and emergency management.
MaxID’s handhelds permit officers in the field to get accurate information about an individual’s identity immediately without having to go to a police station / base / static office. This necessarily improves productivity and provides greater security to both officer and the general public.
MaxID has been involved in providing hardware for identity management solutions for a number of years, with more than 30,000 handheld devices having been deployed between law enforcement devices and voter registration terminals.
