BHC-100 Biometric Hybrid Computer

Designed for identity enrollment as well as validation, the BHC-100 Biometric Hybrid Computer offers the expanded functionality of twin Smart Contact Card readers, iris image acquisition carried out just 15 centimeters from the eye, and a 3 Megapixel color camera that can also stream video. The BHC-100 is a tablet-style mobile computer offering the same 32-channel GPS, bar code reader, integrated wireless, and optical finger print reader capabilities as the iDLMax handheld.

The unit’s two Smart Card readers make it the perfect complement for personnel who must both be verified for a computer network as well as have the capability to additional Smart Card validations. Onboard wireless support includes WCDMA, GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 802.11a/b/g WiFi, and Class 2 Bluetooth as well as additional wireless communications via optional modules. The unit uses a 1.6 GHz Intel processor and can accommodate mechanical hard drives, if desired. An SD expansion memory slot is included, along with two USB host inputs, an Ethernet connection, twin PCI-express slots, and audio inputs and outputs.

A full blown computer despite its small size, the BHC-100 runs on either the Windows XP Pro or Vista operating systems. The BHC-100 also features a 6.5” TFT display with 1024x768 resolution landscape display that is easily readable in sunlight. A full QWERTY backlit keyboard features 63 keys and directional arrows for navigation.

Measuring 10.24” by 7.88” by 3.15”, the BHC-100 is powered by two hot-swappable batteries and weighs less than four pounds. Like the iDLMax, the BHC-100 has a rugged ABS case, and is shock tested to survive a drop of more than three feet to concrete. The unit easily withstands ingress of water and dust, and other daily operating conditions.
